Brine Fall Ball Lax Classic & Terrapin Classic
November 4, 2017:
TEAMS - 2025 Blue, 2020 Blue, 2020 White, 2019 Blue
Four of our FCA MD Boys Club teams competed on Saturday, with the 2025 Blue team starting bright and early at Carsins Run Park in Aberdeen, MD in the Brine Fall Ball Lax Classic. The 2025 Blue team solely represented the FCA MD Club and had a great performance. After facing three tough opponents Charm City, Saltwater Lacrosse 2025, and Sidewinders 2025 Volt they earned a 1st place spot in the championship. After a good battle our 2025 Blue team came out on top with a solid victory, claiming the 2017 Brine Fall Ball Lax Classic Championship!
Only an hour north at Maple Zone Sports Complex in Aston, PA both of our 2020 teams and our 2019 Blue team competed in the Terrapin Classic. The 2020 teams collectively went 3-3. The 2020 Blue team meshed together to go undefeated in all three games. The 2020 White faced a collection of tough opponents from Texas, Georgia, and PA forcing exciting games and great competition. As for the 2019 team, they left the day with 0 losses and 2 wins but ended in one always bitter tie to go 2-0-1. Despite the tie the 2019 Blue team had a great performance on both ends of the field.
In addition to the solid performances on the field, each team's parents and supporters received the second Word of the Day for the Fall from our series on Jesus' Sermon on the mount. The first being "Salt and Light." This weekend the word was "Treasure," coming from Matthew 6:19-24. With the purpose of evaluating our perspective on where we are truly investing our time, our talent, and our resources. Jesus calls us to invest in the Kingdom of Heaven, in treasure that will far outlive our time on earth.
With a record 9-3-1 on Saturday, competitiveness from all of our teams resulting with the 2020 Blue team going undefeated and a championship from the 2025 Blue team we are proud of a great start to the weekend! It is exciting to see our players from the top down competing for the glory of God!
