2018 Coaches

Bryan Kelly

Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Calvert Hall ('96 - present). 3 Time Coach of the Year '96, '03, '12. Coached the Cardinals to 2 MIAA Championships - '03 and '12. All American Defenseman at The University of North Carolina 1991 National Championship Team. Member of the US Under 19 World Championship Team - '88.

Brian Kroneberger

3 time All American Midfielder for Loyola University ('88, '89, & '90). He was a two time Captain of the Greyhounds and he helped lead them to the National Championship game in '90. Played 7 years professionally for the MILL (Baltimore Thunder). He is a member of the Baltimore Chapter of the USCILA & Loyola Colleges Hall of Fame. He played Club Lacrosse for MLC from '91-'98.

Pete Owens

Evan Connell

A graduate of the University of North Carolina where he was on the 2016 national championship team. He was a defenseman at North Carolina. He Was drafted by the Charlotte Hounds in 2016 MLL Draft. A Graduate from Calvert Hall in 2012 where he was on the 2012 MIAA conference Championship team. Played for the FCA National High School team.

2019 Coaches

Dan Mulford

Currently the defensive coordinator for Calvert Hall High School, Dan joined the Cardinal coaching staff after being a high school head coach in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to his high school coaching, Dan was a Division I assistant at his Alma-Mater, Robert Morris University. He held the defensive coordinator position for 3 years. Dan graduated from Robert Morris in 2009, where he was a 4 year starting defensemen and 3 year captain. Dan is a Baltimore native, and an alumni of Calvert Hall where he played defense. 

Dylan Bozel

A 2015 graduate from High Point, Dylan was a midfielder before his career was cut short due to injury. During his Senior year, Dylan served as a student-coach helping create practice plans, running the scout team, and was the sideline control coordinator during games. For high school, Dylan attended Loyola Blakefield where he was a three sport athlete playing basketball, football, and lacrosse for which he served as Captain during his Senior year. He was also selected to play for the Baltimore Under Armour Underclassmen team. For the past three seasons, Dylan has been a huddle leader for the 2019 Blue team and will join the team full time this year as the Offensive Coordinator.

Conner Annunziato

A graduate from Goucher in 2016, Conner was one of the teams leading scorers his junior and senior year. John is excited about being an assistant coach for Goucher College in 2016 and also being a part of the FCA Lacrosse Coaching Staff. Originally from West Chester, PA.

2020 Blue Coaches

Brian Kelly

Head Coach Goucher College Men's Lacrosse- A Baltimore, Maryland native, Kelly played high school lacrosse at Towson High School before playing collegiately at CCBC Essex and then at perennial national powerhouse Johns Hopkins. A midfielder, Kelly was a second-team NJCAA All-American with the Knights in 1991, helping lead CCBC Essex to a NJCAA national championship that year. At Johns Hopkins, the Blue Jays reached the NCAA semifinals in each of his final two seasons at the school (1992 and 1993). Kelly was named an honorable mention All-American midfielder by the USILA in 1993, and he was also the recipient of the Turnbull-Reynolds Award which is given to a player who displays outstanding character and leadership. Brian was recently inducted into the NJCAA Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2015.

Brian is the head JV lacrosse coach at Calvert hall. Prior to that he coached the fresh/Soph for 4 years. Coach Rowe played attack at Randolph-Macon college. He was a 4 year starter. Is an a alumni of Calvert Hall where he played attack.

Andy Droney

Graduate of Calvert Hall 1989 and Duke University 1993.  Four year varsity player and four year letterman at Duke.  Duke Lacrosse Rookie of the Year in 1990.  Selected to play on both the High School and College North-South All-Star teams (1989 & 1993).  Duke Unversity Rookie of the Year in 1990. Head Frosh/Soph. coach and Varsity Assistant at Calvert Hall in 1994. Involved with FCA since 1987 as member of the first FCA huddle at CHC in 1987.  President of CHC FCA huddle in 1989.  FCA Maryland High School Athlete of the Year in 1988. Has been an FCA Maryland coach for the past 4 years.

Brent Hiken

Second year Faceoff Specialist for the Denver Outlaws. Was a member of their 2014 MLL Championship team. 1st team All American and 2 time MVP at Stevenson University. Was also a member of their National Championship team in 2013. Set the Stevenson faceoff record for ground balls and winning percentage. Also a member of the Calvert Hall and Stevenson University coaching staff. Currently is a partner with Fast Break University which helps develop faceoff specialists and coordinated wing play. Will be entering his second season as an FCA Maryland Coach.

Joe Meuer

Recently completed his second year with the Florida Launch in the MLL. Former 10th overall pick in the MLL Draft, who was an All-American and Captain at Ohio State. 4 year starter that also was a 2x Academic All Big 10 and 3x Ohio State Scholar Athlete. Was also voted Team MVP in 2013. Graduate from the McDonogh School where he was selected to play in the Under Armour All American game after his senior season. Joe will be returning for his second season coaching the defense with the 2019 Blue Team.

Roger Kelly

Roger grew up on the Eastern Shore attending what is now known as Worcester Prep where he lettered as a freshman and sophomore.  He then transferred to The Hill School in Pennsylvania where he was a  first team all-league attackman, team captain, and left the school with career, season, and game assist records. Roger attended Gettysburg College where he helped the Bullets win three consecutive Centennial conference championships and participated in the NCAA championships each year. Roger has helped coach at the High School, Youth, and Club level and this will be his third year helping with the FCA Lacrosse program.


2022 Blue Coaches

Frank Kelly

A graduate from Calvert Hall in 1982 where he was a captain of both the Football and Lacrosse team. A 1986 graduate from Cornell University where he was a captain as a Senior and voted 1st team All IVY League. Following his collegiate career, Frank continued playing for the Maryland Lacrosse Club where they were National Champions in 1988 and 1992. From 1987 – 1992 he was voted All Club middle/Faceoff specialist. In addition, Frank also played for the Baltimore Thunder, which was a part of the professional indoor league. In 1987, the Thunder were able to capture the World Indoor Championship. Frank helped start the first FCA Lacrosse Camp in 1988, first FCA Coaches breakfast in 1988, and first FCA Lacrosse Team in 1992. Frank has played for many FCA Elite and Masters teams. He also coached the first FCA /US Lacrosse U15 National Championship Team in 2007. From 1987 – 2002, Frank was a Calvert Hall Assistant and Faceoff Coach. He is currently the Head Coach of FCA 2022 Blue Team.

Tom McAuliffe

Head Lacrosse Coach for the Freedom Lacrosse Program for the past 8 years. Tom was a member of the National Championship Lacrosse Team '92 at Herkimer Community College. He then went on and transferred to Salisbury University where he was an All American & Defensive MVP as his team went on to win a National Championship in 1994.

Jon Wray

FCA U11 assistant coach during the 2014 season. He has also been the Head coach of Freedom Lightning A team. Jon has 15 years of coaching experience at the youth travel level all the way through the high school level. Jon coached at Oakland Mills High School where he was a 2-time captain and all-conference defenseman, class of 1987.

2022 White Coaches

Torre Kasemeyer

Will be entering his 20th year as the offensive coordinator for the Calvert Hall Varsity Lacrosse program. Torre graduated from Glenelg High School in 1988 where he was an attackman. In college he played for Ohio Wesleyan and Western Maryland College where he was twice named All Conference and was an All-American in 1992. Torre is known as the best of the best in terms of skills development through his lacrosse company Got Skillz. He will be returning for his second year as an FCA Maryland 2022 coach.

David Kelly

A graduate of the University of North Carolina where he was on the 1986 national championship team. He was a four-year letterman at University of North Carolina. He went on to play for Maryland lacrosse club where his team won the USCILA Championship. David has coached every one of his children in lacrosse and has been involved in coaching lacrosse for the past 15 years.  David has coached the FCA 2023 team for the past two years.

Francis X. Smyth

Baltimore native began playing lacrosse as a defenseman at Calvert Hall College High School. Starting defenseman on CHC’s 1977 championship MSA team and matriculated to Princeton University in 1978. Started at Princeton for four years, ultimately graduating Honorable Mention All-American in 1982. Continued playing lacrosse with Chesapeake Lacrosse Club for eight years after college. Accepted the defensive coach position with Loyola College for two seasons – 1983 and 1984. Have coached at the recreation level with Kelly Post and LTRC since 1992.

Brian Rowe

Chris Kennedy

Chris has been coaching youth lacrosse for close to 30 years, spending the last several springs  coaching both boys and girls teams with LTRC. A four year letterman as an attackman at DeMatha, he continued his playing career as a midfielder and face-off specialist at Washington and Lee University Over the last few years Chris has served as the offensive coordinator at the high school level. In 2014 he helped lead his varsity team to the state semifinals and in 2016 his freshmen team won the MIAA championship.

2024 Coaches

Brian Hubbard

A standout lacrosse player at Calvert Hall who graduated in 1992, Brian went on to play at Michigan State where he graduated in 1996. Upon graduation, Brian began his coaching career back at his Alma Mater, coaching from 1997 – 2010. During his time as a coach at the Hall, “Hubbs” was the Head Fresh/Soph coach for 2 years, Assistant JV Coach for 1 year, Head JV Coach for 7 years, and Varsity Assistant coach for 1 year. He has been a coach and commissioner of Lutherville Rec Council since 2008 and will be entering his first season as a coach with FCA.

John Putnam

John Putnam is originally from Winchester, Virginia and a graduate of John Handley High School 1994 where he was the two-year captain for his high school football team. He was All State Offensive and Defensive Lineman as well as All Metro Offensive Line. After high school he attended Hargrave Military Academy where he was captain of the Post Grad Football Team and played defense on the lacrosse team. He attended Elon College (now University) 1995-1999 on a full athletic scholarship in football. He was a four-year starter, played guard and was captain his senior year. John has been around the game of lacrosse since the ninth grade when a friend asked him to play in a pickup tournament in NOVA.  He was hooked. For the past six years he has been involved with coaching lacrosse here in Baltimore with 2016 being his second year with FCA. He currently is the Commissioner of the Towson Spartans Football Rec League and also serves as the head coach of the 10U football team for Towson Spartans.
