October 23, 2016:
On Sunday, October 23rd, FCA MD Lacrosse went to First Fruits Farm in Freeland, MD for their annual “Fall Service Day”. Over two hundred players, parents and siblings spent the afternoon harvesting potatoes for families in North Carolina and Virginia who were affected by Hurricane Matthew. By the end of the afternoon, 55,000 pounds of potatoes had been gathered.
Service is one of FCA Lacrosse’s four core values along with integrity, teamwork and excellence. FCA strives to model Jesus’ example of serving as explained in John 13:1-17. By partnering and working with non-profit organizations like First Fruits Farm, FCA Lacrosse hopes to make a positive impact in the community for the sake of Christ.
